The 20th of April 2022 marked the one year to go milestone of the 2023 Total Solar Eclipse in Western Australia. This week Tourism WA (TWA) officially launched the Eclipse marketing program led by Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism Roger Cook. In his press conference this week, the Deputy Premier announced funding support of $19.3m for the Total Solar Eclipse to aid community infrastructure development and event delivery. To support the Minister’s announcement and international media enquiries, an Eclipse media kit has been developed. The media kit has a focus on the destination and the Eclipse. Click here to view a copy of the media kit.
Alongside the media kit two Eclipse ‘Sizzle Reels’ are also now available for use for social media and an extended version featuring the WA Chief Scientist and others about what an Eclipse means to Western Australia. The videos can be viewed here – short and long form videos or on YouTube viewed here.
On the 29th of April, a dedicated Eclipse lift-out will feature in the West Australian focusing on building awareness amongst the community about the event. The feature will also have a dedicated page promoting the Eclipse glasses promotion and stories from the Education Department addressing what schools in Western Australia are doing in the STEM Science space.
The first edition of the dedicated Eclipse newsletter will be published in early May, if you are not signed up you still have a chance to do so via the official Ningaloo Eclipse Wesbite. The site is full of inspiring content about the destination, information about Eclipse`s, a comprehensive guide to planning your trip and of course contact details and a sign up to the Eclipse newsletter. Whilst TWA hopes consumers will find the website inspiring they also recognise there is still information to be uploaded onto the website, including booking information for campsites etc. This information will be available shortly.
