AGM 2019 / 2020

Thank you all who attended our AGM at the Ningaloo Centre last night. The night was a true success with the attendance of 17 active members along with 11 received proxy voting forms.

The year, 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020, was an extremely challenging year for business and the Exmouth community at large. In the turbulent times, the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry provided representation and resolve on behalf of its members.

As the COVID19 pandemic developed, we all had to contend with state and regional border closures, effectively shattering business confidence overnight and bringing many businesses to a standstill in what would have otherwise been the beginning of the typical busy season. When the regional borders did open the next challenge was to sufficiently service the unprecedented influx of tourists and visitors, all the while scrambling to recruit and retain a dwindling workforce.

It was during this time that the new Executive Committee took a strategic view to expand the possibilities and reach of the ECCI. This involved investigating potential ongoing income streams and strengthening our industry and government partnerships to promote, sustain, and grow ECCI businesses in this uncertain time.
