Recently, with the much appreciated support from the Gascoyne Development Commission I was thrilled to attend the RCCIWA Regional Business Awards. Hosted by the Regional Chambers of Commerce WA (RCCIWA). This gala event, held in April 2024, was a night to remember, celebrating and recognising the outstanding achievements of regional businesses across Western Australia.
After several years in the making, the RCCIWA Regional Business Excellence Awards came to fruition, promising to celebrate, reward, and acknowledge regional business excellence. This event, to be held annually, brought together businesses from all corners of regional WA, each having achieved success in their local business awards programs hosted by RCCIWA members.
The importance of such recognition cannot be overstated. Providing businesses with an opportunity to be rewarded and recognised not only boosts business confidence but also acts as a catalyst for growth and expansion. It propels businesses to increase their footprint, explore new markets, and take their operations to the next level.
Over 220 regional business enthusiasts gathered at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for the gala event. It was a magnificent evening filled with celebration, recognition, awards, connections, and dancing, all in the spirit of championing regional businesses and their contributions to their communities.
A huge congratulations goes out to all 31 finalists and winners. Each finalist had previously won at their local awards program in 2023, resulting in a highly competitive field with remarkable entries. The full list of finalists showcased the diversity and excellence of WA’s regional businesses.
Highlighting the evening were the category winners, each representing different industries, sectors, locations, and sizes. The winners included:
- Sole Trader: Total First Aid Solutions, Onslow
- Business with 1 to 5 Employees: Country Chiropractic, Newman
- Business with 6 to 10 Employees: Waroona Veterinary Clinic
- Business with 11 to 20 Employees: Air Kimberley, Broome
- Business with 21+ Employees: Willie Creek Pearls, Broome
- Leading with Innovation: Synergy Graphics, Albany
- Start Up: Broome Weddings and Events
- Sustainable & Environmental Business Practices: Finlay’s Kalbarri, Midwest
These businesses exemplify excellence in their respective fields, and their achievements are truly commendable.
The pinnacle of the evening was the announcement of the 2024 WA Regional Business of the Year, awarded to Waroona Veterinary Clinic. This prestigious award recognises exemplary performance and leadership in the regional business community.
