LAUNCH NIGHT! Exmouth Business Accelerator Program

The official Launch of the Exmouth Business Accelerator Program was a great success and enjoyed by Exmouth business owners in celebration with the Founding Partners Woodside and Mitsui E & P Australia, community leaders and invited guests.

The $240,000, 3-year sponsorship agreement will fund a full range of program activities and a Project Officer through the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry to facilitate the Exmouth Business Accelerator Program.

Working with Exmouth businesses to ascertain the information and expertise they are seeking, is central to the aims of the program to support local businesses, improve economic viability and increase employment opportunities in Exmouth.

Our impromptu poll of businesses on the night indicated Business Planning and Expanding was most pressing, followed by Leadership and Management skills, then Digital Marketing and of course, Social Media know-how.

Other valuable proposals included a push to promote ‘buy local’ and to improve sustainability in business.

A social and supportive group, Exmouth business entrepreneurs are resilient, resourceful, and keen to network when the opportunity arises. This is also an important feature of the Exmouth Business Accelerator Program and plans for Business After Hours and regular breakfast meetings are in the pipeline.

Mantarays Resort was the perfect location for this event, and we were very fortunate that Kitty Prodonovich, CEO of the Regional Chambers of Industry WA, was our inspiring MC for the evening.

We were thrilled to receive an inspiring message from Senator, the Hon Michaelia Cash, Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business directly addressing the important role the Exmouth business community has in the State’s recovery and of course acknowledging Woodside’s significant contribution via the Exmouth Business Accelerator Program.

It was also fantastic that The Hon Kyle McGinn MLC, Minister for Mining and Pastoral Region representing The Hon Alannah MacTiernan, Minister for Regional Development was present and spoke of the State Government’s business support measures in the face of COVID-19 restrictions and encouraged those attending to speak frankly about their issues and how the government may assist.

The Hon Vince Catania MLA, North West Central Member is well-known to the Exmouth community and we were incredibly pleased he was able to attend the event.

The Exmouth Business Accelerator Program is now underway as founding partners, Woodside and the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry looks forward to seeing the benefits of this collaboration for the business community of Exmouth.
